Solar water pumps run straight from solar panels, so you can pump water on farms, plots and game lodges without Eskom or a generator – and keep water flowing during load shedding.Types of solar pumpsSolar borehole pumps – 3″ and 4″ submersible pumps with a solar controller, for boreholes up to several hundred metres deep.Hybrid AC/DC kits – run on solar in the day and switch to Eskom or a generator when needed.Solar surface and pool pumps – for transfer, irrigation and pool filtration. How to size a solar pumpTell us the borehole depth, water level, daily litres you need and the height to your tank. We match the pump, controller and number of panels so you get the water you need even on cloudy days. Not sure which one fits your job? WhatsApp us on 061 744 1001 with your flow, head and power supply and we will size it for you. We deliver across South Africa from Pretoria.

Frequently asked questions

Can a solar pump run without batteries?

Yes. Most solar borehole pumps run directly from the solar panels during the day and fill a storage tank, so no batteries are needed. Hybrid models can also run from Eskom or a generator.

How many solar panels do I need for a borehole pump?

As a rule of thumb, the solar array should be about 1.3 to 1.5 times the pump power. We size the pump, controller and panels together based on your borehole depth and daily water need.
